Nikki’s Inbox: Tall, Dark and Color-Me-Bad
I like to think I’m a pretty fashion-forward individual. At the very least, I hope I am. I dress very simply in the summer because warm weather renders me lazy. But, as autumn, my favorite time of year, rolls around, I’m breaking out my Fashion for the Fall Box of Wonders. But it’s very different from my Summer Sun Laziness Ensemble. It includes ties and bow ties, patterned dress socks, suspenders, non-denim pants, buttoned shirts, sweater vests, waistcoats, cardigans, and my trusty pair of nerd frames (which is a must, or I’d be blind).
At first glance, it looks as if I’m set, but I’m a bit insecure that my color palette is too plain – lots of beige and brown, tons of blue shirts. I remedy this with my grandiose assortment of ties and other add-ons, but I want to expand that concept toward my clothes instead of relying on accessories to make the outfit.
Also, I’m about 5′9, medium to dark complexion, like a caramel, all legs, broad, square shoulders, and very skinny with some meat hanging on. I don’t know if that’s important. I could really use the advice as autumn draws nearer. Thanks for everything!
